Abstract: (Elsevier)
We show that on multiply connected space-times the conventional vacuum generating functional for spinor fields is not, in general, invariant under local Lorentz gauge transformations. This problem is resolved and several classes of Lorentz gauge invariant generating functionals are constructed. In particular, one class is shown to arise in a natural way in a specific quantum gravity framework and some of the physical implications of these functionals are discussed.- FIELD THEORY: SPINOR
