Starting with a classical description of a colour spin, which interacts with the Yang-Mills fields, we derive a path-integral formula for transition amplitudes. Explicit integration gives a path-ordered phase factor. Applications to the instanton are also discussed.- GAUGE FIELD THEORY: YANG-MILLS
