Abstract: (Elsevier)
Gamma-ray spectra from the radiative capture of 14.1 MeV neutrons in natural Mg, Si, P and Ca measured with a scintillation telescope pair spectrometer are presented. Because of the spherical geometry of the experiment, spectra are integrated over a solid angle of 4 π . The energy spread of the initial neutrons is 1.35 MeV. The excitation energy of residual nuclei ranges from zero to the neutron binding energy. The integrated cross sections for Mg, Si, P and Ca are 300±45 μ b, 470±75 μ b, 360±65 μ b and 520±80 μ b respectively.- Nuclear reactions
