Gamma-ray branching ratios in the nuclei 40 K and 28 Al have been determined from particle-gamma coincidence measurements of the reactions 39 K(d, pγ) 40 K and 27 Al(d, pγ) 28 Al. In 40 K, results are given for only a few levels below 4 MeV that were excited with sufficient intensity. Some γ-rays from 41 K(d, pγ) 42 K were also seen. Decay schemes were obtained for most of the levels of 28 Al up to nearly 4 MeV excitation energy. The fifth excited state of 28 Al is shown to be a doublet separated by 2.9 ± 0.8 keV.- Nuclear reactions
