Abstract: (Elsevier)
Considerable corrections to the ft values (2 to 9 %) emerge when taking into account the small components of the nuclear wave functions in the calculations of the matrix elements 〈1〉 and 〈σ〉. The calculations are performed for several relativistic single-particle models; the resulting potential well parameters are in agreement with values which one currently obtains in non-relativistic calculations. The corrections turn out to be rather model independent. Coulomb distortion of the proton wave is included in the computation, but its effect is small.References(11)
