Spectroscopy of 27 Si with the 24 Mg(α, nγ) 27 Si reaction

Neutron-γ angular correlation and lifetime measurements with the 24 Mg(α, nγ) 27 Si reaction were performed at bombarding energies of 12.60, 12.90, 15.45 and 16.35 MeV. Spins and parities for the E x = 0.96, 2.16, 2.91, 4.45 and 5.28 MeV levels of 27 Si were found as 3 2 + , 7 2 + , 9 2 + , 11 2 + and ( 7 2 , 11 2 ) + , respectively. Mixing ratios of γ-ray transitions, γ-ray decay and excitation energies for some levels below 5.4 MeV have also been determined. For the mirror pair 27 Si- 27 Al there is now a one-to-one correspondence for the lowest sixteen states. The results are compared with shell-model predictions.- Nuclear reactions
