Abstract: (Elsevier)
Using the precision time-of-flight measuring system and the Q3D spectrograph of the Munich Tandem Laboratory, Q -value for the ( 3 He, t) reaction on 26 Mg, 34 S, 42 Ca, 46 Ti, 50 Cr and 54 Fe were measured with an accuracy of 0.4–0.6 keV (eff. standard deviation). In agreement with recent measurements at Chalk River considerable deviations from the 1971 mass table values (up to 8 keV) were found. Decay energies for the corresponding superallowed β-decays were derived from the Q -value, and improved ¢Ft values were calculated from weighted averages of the decay energies and half-lives reported in the literature, including the present results. The results are compatible with a constant value ¢Ft = 3087.9 ± 3.8 sec for all decays.- Nuclear reactions
