Abstract: (Elsevier)
Using exact S -matrix to potential inversion it is demonstrated that breakup accounts for an established anomaly of deuteron optical potentials. More generally, universal features of the breakup polarization potential are established and they are exhibited for d and 6 Li projectiles. Also the relative importance of S and S+D breakup channels and the role of continuum-continuum coupling are demonstrated.References(33)
