Abstract: (Elsevier)
Angular distributions of light (or heavy) fission fragments may exhibit an asymmetry with respect to ϑ c . m . = 90° due to interference effects between even and odd partial waves if only a few transition states contribute to fission. This possibility is explored for neutron induced fission of 230, 232 Th in the region of subbarrier resonances. Only in case of 23 Th(n, f) a slight but significant asymmetry is observed. It is interpreted in support of the third-minimum hypothesis.References(13)
