Abstract: (APS)
It is pointed out that the cores of massive stars reach temperatures of the order of 10 MeV during the gravitational collapse preceding supernova explosion so that the emission of neutrinos of mass ∼1 MeV is not suppressed substantially. Consequently we feel that the limits on radiative lifetimes derived using astrophysical arguments (τ0mν>1016 sec/eV) are still valid.
