Abstract: (Elsevier)
We analyze the two parameter scalar potential of the gauged d = 7 simple ( N = 2) supergravity theory. The potential has a local minimum and a local maximum. The latter provides a supersymmetric anti-deSitter background which we show to be stable with respect to arbitrarily large fluctuations of the gravitational and scalar fields. The “apparent mass terms” agree with those obtained by a Kaluza-Klein analysis of the N = 4, d = 7 theory.- SUPERGRAVITY: SEVEN-DIMENSIONAL
