A simple pole model for photoproduction based on a chiral Lagrangian is presented which accounts for the essential features of all of the multipoles in the Δ(1220) region. A general form for Δ contributions is considered and two parameters Y and Z related to different possible Δ couplings are determined to be Y = 1 4 ± 1 4 and Z = 0± 1 4 .
