Abstract: (Elsevier)
We adopt the hypothesis that the weak bosons are composite particles made out of consituents (haplons), which carry a new quantum number (hypercolor), but also ordinary color. Assuming that the haplons are color triplets, we expect color octet partners (W 8 ) of the weak bosons in the mass range 120–180 GeV. We study the production of W 8 at the p p collider and their decay signatures. We examine the possibility that the colored weak bosons might be at the origin of the unconventional events, recently observed at the p p collider.- GAUGE BOSON: MODEL
