Abstract: (APS)
The corrections to the gluonic width of ϒ-like mesons in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) through first order in αs are calculated, with the result Γg=Γg0[1+(3.8±0.5)×αs(Mϒ)π], using the MS― scheme definition of αs, renormalized at Mϒ. With this correction, the measured value of the leptonic branching ratio of the ϒ can be used to determine αs, or, equivalently, the QCD scale parameter ΛMS―. The result is ΛMS―=100 MeV, with experimental errors of MeV−25+34 and comparable theoretical uncertainties. Analysis of the ψ and ψ′ data is consistent with this value.- Upsilon(9460): leptonic decay
