Abstract: (Elsevier)
We present the order α s corrections to the masses of the W and Z bosons in the standard model of the electromagnetic and weak interactions (GWS). In addition we also give the widths of the Z and W bosons corrected up to order α s where the quarks are taken to be massive. For the low-mass quarks u, d, c, and s the correction to the mass and widths are small and positive. However, we find a larger contribution from the t,b doublet. This is due to the Coulomb singularity which appears in the vector boson self-energy graph with one-gluon exchange.- INTERMEDIATE BOSON: MASS
