Abstract: (AIP)
Spectroscopic study of electro-produced Λ hypernuclei started at Jefferson Lab in the last year of the 20th century. Though it was known that spectroscopy of electroproduced hypernuclei has unique features over other meson-produced hypernuclear spectroscopy, there existed many experimental difficulties such as small production cross section, huge electron background and so on. We, finally, established the Λ hypernuclear spectroscopy with electron beams by introducing novel experimental techniques. The JLab hypernuclear collaboration is now preparing for a new experiment (JLab E12-15-008) to investigate isospin dependence of Λ hypernuclei with 40Ca and 48Ca targets. I will overview unique feature of previously carried out hypernuclear study with electron beams at JLab and four current issues to be solved. Physics goal and preparation status of the new experiments and future prospects of hypernuclear study with electron beams will be also discussed.
