Abstract: (APS)
For an at least approximate treatment of rearrangement scattering and breakup, a distorted-wave technique is applied to the scattering problem of three charged particles. We give a two-potential formula for the transition operators Uab and obtain generalized Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas integral equations. For the distorted components of the wave function we derive new Faddeev equations with reduced coupling terms. In the case of Coulomb distortion the coupled equations are discussed in detail.
