Abstract: (Springer)
An observation of horizontal air showers of sizes from 103 to 105 particles (1 to 100 TeV in energy) has been performed. For showers of sizes up to ∼2.104, the size spectrum and zenith angle distributions are observed to be consistent with expectation. Some deviation appears in both the size spectrum and angle distributions for showers above ∼2.104, which suggests that they may be due to a short-lived muon parent particle.
