Abstract: (Springer)
The relativistic Bergmann-Wigner equations are used in a first-order approach to effective Lagrangians. Interaction terms involve both derivative and non-derivative couplings. Examples based on the groupsSU2K,2K/N (withK = 1, 2, 3;N = 1 orN =K) are given. When equations of motion are used, the Lagrangian changes by a total divergence. The breaking of theSU2,2/1-subgroup toOSp4/1 and toSP4 is also considered. Possible applications to hadron physics are outlined.- FIELD THEORY: EFFECTIVE LAGRANGIANS
