Abstract: (Elsevier)
It is pointed out that the energy-dependent uncertainty principle abstracted recently by Saavedra and Utreras (SU) when supplemented by the assumption of homogeneity of space yields the Heisenberg uncertainty principle in a rather natural way. The choice for canonical commutation relation of quantum mechanics used by SU for their abstraction is by no means unique. The physical implication of this non-uniqueness is discussed.- QUANTUM MECHANICS: MEASUREMENT
