Abstract: (Oxford Journals)
The equation for the cosmological scale factor and the background scalar field in the proposed scale invariant scalar-tensor theory of gravitation is solved. A completely analytic method can be applied, if one chooses a conformal frame in which particle masses are constant. All the solutions are analyzed and compared with the numerical solutions obtained previously. It is suggested that the presence of two different conformal frames may provide a resolution of the horizon problem.
