Abstract: (Elsevier)

A distribution function for multiplicity is obtained from a branching evolution equation. Underm special conditions, it reduces to the negative binomial distribution or to Furry-Yule distribution. The difference in the dynamics involved in th pp̄ and in the e + e − collision is elucidated.
