Abstract: (Springer)
The flux of hadrons with energies greater than 0.7 GeV produced in muon-generated nuclear cascades is estimated for various depths. The estimation is based on our measurements made at a depth of 550 m w.e. and on the presently available accelerator data. The results show the hadron background to be essential for proton decay experiments up to 8000 m w.e.- P: DECAY
