Abstract: (Elsevier)
The neutron electric dipole moment, D n , has been calculated in the framework of the chiral bag model (CBM) taking account of the contributions of the N ∗ (1535), N ∗ (1700) (the lowest-lying 1 2 − resonances) and the nucleon-pion (Nπ) intermediate states. The CP violation is due to the θ-term of QCD. It is found that |D n ( N ∗ )| = 2.3 × 10 −16 |θ|e cm , | D n ( π N)| = 0.7 × 10 −16 | θ | e cm with the bag radius R = 1 fm.- N: ELECTRIC MOMENT
