Abstract: (Elsevier)
A new method for calculating the nonsinglet evolution kernels in QCD is described. The method is applicable to exclusive and some inclusive (“spacelike”) processes. As an application of the method the two-loop contribution to the pion wave function evolution kernel V is calculated in Feynman gauge. In the same way we reproduce also the two-loop kernel P of the nonsinglet Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi evolution equation. For some classes of diagrams we establish general properties that hold in all orders of perturbation theory. “Reduction“ formulas that enable one to calculate a P -kernel from the corresponding V -kernel are found. We discuss also the general structure of the two-loop evolution kernels and compare our results with those obtained by other authors.- QUANTUM CHROMODYNAMICS
