We measure the latent heat of the high-temperature deconfinement transition of pure gauge lattice QCD, using lattices with ten, twelve and fourteen links in the euclidean time direction. The latent heat Δϵ in units of the lattice Λ parameter is found to be Δϵ / Λ 4 = (3.17±0.35±systematic)×10 7 .- GAUGE FIELD THEORY: SU(3)
