The calculation of the total neutrino-nucleon cross section at energies from 10 to 10 8 TeV is discussed. An extrapolation formula is developed which explicitly shows the enhancement at high energies due to QCD effects at small x . Our cross section is substantially larger than currently used extrapolation formulas. A comment on the possibility of cross-section enhancement by superheavy boson exchange is given and such a mechanism as applied to recent data from Cygnus X-3 is discussed.- NEUTRINO NUCLEON: INTERACTION
