Abstract: (Elsevier)
We show that the five-pseudoscalar vertex such as K + K − → π + π − π 0 , when considered in conjunction with the topological quantization of the Wess-Zumino term, puts a severe constraint on the structure of skyrmion models that include “strong” vector mesons. It is argued that only the hidden gauge approach satisfies the constraint. The relevance of chiral anomalies in low-energy effective theories of QCD is also discussed.- VERTEX FUNCTION: (5PSEUDOSCALAR MESON)
