Abstract: (Elsevier)
It is shown that the quark cluster model gives a good, physically justifiable description at the parton level of all currently available deep inelastic lepton scattering data on the ratio of structure functions R (A/D) (on various nuclei A and deuterium) at all values of x . Our approach nicely accounts for the new EMC data which shows that R (A/D) falls below unity at x ≲0.1.- LEPTON NUCLEUS: DEEP INELASTIC SCATTERING
