Abstract: (Elsevier)
We examine the production of single W bosons in the decay of heavy Z bosons, which are present in the low energy limit of E 6 grand unified theories, via the process Z′→W + ℓ − ν ℓ . The branching ratio for this process is found to be sensitive to the Z′-fermion couplings as well as the amount of mixing between Z′ and the usual standard model Z over a wide range of Z′ masses.
