Abstract: (Elsevier)
A successful description of πN scattering in the Skyrme model of nucleons has been plagued by the apparent absence of Born amplitudes. We show that the correct amplitudes are obtained when one takes into account the zero modes of the skyrmion. Also, retarded rather than static pion fields of the soliton should be used to provide relativistic invariance of the amplitudes.- PI NUCLEON: INTERACTION
