Abstract: (Elsevier)
J ψ mesons produced in 200 GeV/ A oxygen-uranium collisions can be lost on their way out of the interaction zone by inelastic scattering with surrounding nucleons. We calculate this effect and find that it accounts for 25% of the J ψ suppression as observed by the NA 38 experiment. Effects from a possible quark-gluon plasma have not been included.- LIGHT NUCLEUS NUCLEUS: NUCLEAR REACTION
