Abstract: (Elsevier)
Quantum equations of the Kd V type are naturally defined by means of their quantum second hamiltonian structure. The latter defines an ( extended ) Virasoro algebra. The quantum KdV equation ( related to the Virasoro algebra ) and the quantum Boussinesq equation ( related to the W algebra ) are introduced in this way. Their conservation laws appear to correspond to the integrals of motion of particular perturbed conformal field theories.
