On the Hawking Effect in De Sitter Space

Abstract: (IOP)
The Hawking effect in static de Sitter (dS) space is studied for a massless conformally coupled scalar field. An exact calculation of the difference between the dS invariant propagator and the propagator of the omega modes, the eigenmodes on static dS space, reveals Hawking radiation with temperature 1/2 pi a, where r=a defines the horizon.
