Abstract: (IOP)
All high-energy data on charged-pion photoproduction in the forward direction at high energies are analysed in conjunction with finite-energy sum rules (FESRS). Two analyses are presented. In the first approach the emphasis is on seeing how far one can understand the data and sum rules in a minimal model with only Regge poles apart from a pion cut. In the second, more parameters are introduced (and more cuts) and the emphasis is on fitting all of the data and the FESRS so that reliable amplitudes are obtained in order to be compared with forthcoming data from the proposed electron accelerators ELSA and CEBAF.
