Abstract: (APS)
A new two-dimensional model of self-dual bosons interacting chirally with gauge fields is presented. In this anomalous gauge theory, the photon acquires a mass by swallowing a self-dual boson (i.e., a chiral fermion) which gets confined as in the Schwinger model.
