Abstract: (ADS)
A method for studying the evolution of discontinuities in radiating spherically symmetric distributions of matter has been extended to model hydrodynamic phase transitions in a composite radiant sphere. In the present scenario, the matter configuration is divided into two regions by a shock wave front, with each side of the interface having a different anisotropic phase. The resultant models are shown to be strongly dependent on the anisotropic jump across the interface and on the luminosity (opacity) of the shock wave.References(0)
