Abstract: (Elsevier)
We explore the observable consequences of a simple extension of the standard model containing a new Z ′ gauge boson. he model we consider is a novel extension of the strong interaction sector introduced by Foot and Hernández involving many new particles. We find only the remarkably mild constraint that M Z ′ ≳100 GeV. We consider herein only Z ′-related phenomena, namely low-energy induced interactions, modifications at the Z peak, CDF p p and TRISTAN and PETRA e + e − production of Z ′ and the forward-backward (or charge) lepton asymmetry in electron-positron annihilation.- grand unified theory
