Abstract: (Elsevier)
The chiral condensate of lattice QCD is measured in the quenched approximation with staggered fermions on a 16 4 lattice at β =6.0, using the Lanczos algorithm. We also present results obtained at smaller β values and use existing measurements of the string tension and glueball mass in order to study the asymptotic and pre-asymptotic scaling behaviour of lattice QCD.- lattice field theory
