Abstract: (Elsevier)
The perturbative renormalization of the operator G-G in non-abelian gauge theories is reconsidered. We discuss in detail the relation between the fermion and gluon axial vector currents, a μ and K μ , respectively. It is shown that, contrary to common belief, the term ∫ G-G d 4 x in the lagrangian is renormalized due to infrared effects.- gauge field theory: SU(N)
