Role of multiple mini - jets in high-energy hadronic reactions

Abstract: (APS)
The multiplicity distributions of charged particles in high-energy hadron collisions including the production of multiple minijets are considered in the framework of the eikonal formalism. Large-multiplicity events at high energies are found to be dominated by the production of many jets with 2≤PT≤4 GeV. The contributions from larger-PT minijets become prevailing for high-multiplicity fluctuations in narrow rapidity intervals.
