Using results from chiral perturbation theory for O( N )-symmetric models in the spontaneously broken phase, we study the distribution of the mean field Φ = V −1 ∫d d xφ ( x ) at large volume. We show that this distribution obeys a scaling law and we calculate the shape of the constraint effective potential in the scaling limit.
