Abstract: (Elsevier)
The use of a particular combination of dilepton yield and scaled rapidity density is proposed for the possible identification of dilepton radiation from thermalized matter produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. The method is based on the different multiplicity dependences of various production mechanisms for massive lepton pairs.
