To improve the data acquisition and the trigger system of the VENUS experiment, a new FASTBUS master module based on a 68020 microprocessor has been developed and introduced. This module is used not only as a data-taking processor but also as a second-level trigger processor. The module structure and the performance of the second-level trigger process are described.
