Abstract: (Elsevier)
We study quantum dynamics of spherically symmetric black holes interacting with a scalar field. by solving the Wheeler-DeWitt equation near the apparent horizon. We obtain the wave function representing the black-hole evaporation due to quantum production of scalar waves. The mass-loss rate inferred from the Hawking radiation is justified, and the final fate of the evaporation is discussed.- black hole
