Abstract: (Elsevier)
Based on an effective lagrangian which includes mesonic and gluonic degrees of freedom the nucleon-nucleon potential is obtained from two interacting solitons. With exact numerical calculations of the classical interaction energy and the use of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation for quantization we obtain good qualitative agreement with empirical potentials, provided the value of the gluon condensate is large. In particular, the question of medium-range attraction seems to be resolved.- nucleon nucleon: interaction
