Abstract: (Elsevier)
We apply the adiabatic approximation to investigate the short range interactions of relativistic self-dual Chern- Simons vortices. Unlike in the Abelian Higgs model the result of the head-on collision of n vortices is the backward scattering. As the initial velocity rises the scattering angle tends to π / n . We also show the existence of the state in which the n vortices are rotating around the center of mass. The peculiarities are due to the nonzero charge of the Chern-Simons vortices.
