Abstract: (Oxford Journals)
Heavy quark effective theory is applied to semileptonic decays of B mesons into charmed higher resonances D_X, where subscript X denotes various spin-parity states of resonances. We calculate the differential decay rates and branching ratios of the decay B →D_Xlν_l. We find that the largest fraction of the semileptonic process B →D_Xlν_l other than D(1869) and D^*(2010) is D_2^*(1P state) whose value is 0.11- B: semileptonic decay
