Abstract:
We investigate the production of -mesons via \mbox{} in a relativistic One-Boson-Exchange-Model. Because of the special kinematics of this reaction, the intermediate pion can be on-shell. As a result the integration over the phase space of the final particles can only be done in nuclear matter. Consequently the resulting cross section is density dependent. Using this cross section we calculate the probability for the production of an -meson by a -resonance moving in nuclear matter. The result is compared to a calculation in which the \et-production is treated as a sequential process ().- nucleon nucleus: nuclear reaction
