Abstract:
Symmetry restoration processes during non-equilibrium stage of ``preheating'' after inflation is studied. It is shown that the restoration is very efficient when the majority of created particles is concentrated at energies much smaller than the would-be equilibrium reheating temperature. In typical inflationary models the strength of this effect is equivalent to the temperature of instant reheating of order of the Plank scale. This can have an important impact on GUT and axion models.
